Harrison back on top in Superstock 1

Deano really was flying in the superstock race!

It’s been six years, but Dean Harrison is a TT winner again

Honda’s Dean Harrison broke BMW’s decade long stranglehold on the Isle of Man TT’s Superstock class as he returned to the top step of podium for the first time since 2019.

Harrison has been the epitome of consistency since winning the 2019 Senior TT, finishing every single one of the 18 races since his last win in the top four (and all but two, ironically superstock, on the podium).

With bad weather delaying the RL360 Superstock TT Race 1 from the morning through to the early evening, the race distance was halved from the original four laps, meaning it was a flat out battle from the get go.

Harrison, a famously fast starter, pushed hard from the start and traded the lead with pre-race favourite Davey Todd through the first few sectors, before increasing his pace and setting a personal best 135.692mph lap to take his career fourth TT win.

“I got the hammer down right from the start,” Harrison said. “I saw my pitboards said P1 and then P2, so I had to dig really deep. To get another TT win is magic. I can’t thank the team enough. We’ve been up and down and tried all sorts this week, so to pay them back with a win is fantastic. It’s been a long time coming and to be a four time TT winner is really special for me.”

After the race Todd admitted overriding his BMW after getting held up in traffic, while third placed Michael Dunlop was never able to challenge for a win.

The 30-time winner had some electronic issues on his BMW, losing a lot of time on the opening lap as he adapted to riding with an intermittent problem with the throttle blipper. He was passed by Todd, who had started 20 seconds behind his rival, towards the end of the first lap and was able to hang in to maintain his 100% podium record at TT 2025.

Away from the podium there were some other impressive rides. James Hillier continued his strong TT with fourth. Fifth was TT legend Ian Hutchinson, back in the 130mph club for the first time after suffering a stroke in 2023. In the battle of the Manxmen, Conor Cummins took sixth, 1.929 seconds ahead of the ever improving Nathan Harrison, with Dom Herbertson, Josh Brookes and James Hind rounding out the top 10.
