Seven great things to see and do at Motorcycle Live 2024

Motorcycle Live is Britain’s biggest motorbike show and takes place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre between 16-24 November.

This nine-day biking extravaganza has something for all enthusiasts and we are so looking forward to being there and meeting you all. There really is so much to see and do, so make sure you give yourself the full day if you’re coming along. It’s undergoing a bit of a revamp for 2024, with an experience the organisers describe as ‘amplified’.

Entire Cover will be exhibiting at the show for the first time, so do drop in and see us in Hall 3. We know that should be reason enough to come along but, if you’re still undecided, here are seven great reasons why we think you shouldn’t miss out on the winter’s hottest motorcycling event.

All the new bikes

Winter bike shows are our opportunity to see the exciting new motorcycles which will be gracing our showrooms in the new year.

Manufacturers bring along their latest wares for us to see, to sit on and to lust after. Whether you’re a serious buyer or daydreaming over your fantasy bike, Motorcycle Live is the ultimate motorbike showroom.

New metal we’ll be seeing this year includes the new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, Ducati Multistrada V4 S and Honda’s budget streetfighter, the Hornet 1000. Sports bike fans will be well looked after, with racy models like the latest Ducati Panigales, Yamaha R9 and BMW’s M series superbikes all on display.

If cool retros are your thing, you’ll make a beeline to see Royal Enfield’s snazzy Bear 650, Honda’s entry level GB350S and Triumph’s fancy Icon range of factory customs. Trust us, you won’t be short of choice.

Heritage Zone

We did say there was something for everyone, and it’s definitely not just a giant showroom of new bikes. You’ll see plenty or rare and unusual motorcycles at the show and, close to us in Hall 3, you’ll find the Heritage Zone presented by the National Motorcycle Museum.

Ten British motorcycles covering an 81 year period from 1902 will be on display. The selection covers the ‘first and last’ examples from the original Ariel, BSA, Norton, Royal Enfield and Triumph companies and, as well as the bikes, there will be displays covering the history of the manufacturers and experts on hand to chat about the machines too.

In case you were wondering, talking about motorbikes is also a big part of Motorcycle Live. There are loads of stages and talk shows throughout each day, and if you want to discover where our passion began, head over to the Heritage Zone and drink in the history.

JD Stunts team

UK stunt champion Jonny Davies will be at Motorcycle Live every day to put on his mesmerising shows in Hall 4.

Riding his modified Kawasaki ZX-6R, the man who holds a Guinness World Record for ‘skiing’ behind his bike at almost 160mph will put on several shows each day – where stoppies, wheelies and no handed riding is the norm.

It’s all part of a new Festival Zone, which also includes more stunts from the Freestyle MX team and trials demonstrations.

Welcome to the Live Lounge

Motorcycle Live organisers are making their event more of a festival this year. Not only are there are load of bike related shows to find in the Festival Zone, there is also a live music stage where up and coming artists will perform each lunchtime.

With plenty of places to eat, drink and be merry, Motorcycle Live is much more than just a motorbike show. There’s something for all the family.

Bike racers, bloggers and blokes* off the telly

Motorcycle Live has always been a place to meet with some of motorcycle racing’s biggest stars. This year’s top names include WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu (Saturday 23rd) and TT legend Peter Hickman (daily from Tuesday 19th), while leading riders from British Superbikes and the Isle of Man TT also make regular appearances.

At the centre of the venue will be the new Expert Lab stage, where presenter Grace Webb will host demonstrations from experts on subjects including suspension setup, welding and machine assembly, while the ever entertaining Sidecar Guys will talk of their world record breaking trip around the globe with a sidecar outfit. They’re well worth a listen!

Learn to ride!

We’re all motorcyclists, it’s just some of us haven’t started the journey yet. And if that sounds like you, get yourself down to Motorcycle Live and try out riding for yourself.

There are loads of free demos to try out, from static ‘rolling road’ experiences from manufacturers including BMW, Honda and Harley-Davidson, to small bike tasters in the ‘Learn to Ride’ zone, some electric motorcycle try outs and even bikes for the kids to ride. Just make sure you get along early to book a slot, as these understandably get booked up quickly every day.
